Sulvaris developed Micronized Sulfur Technology (MST®) as a tool for industry to improve global food security and crop production on soils faced with increasing sulfur deficiencies. MST® small particle size allows faster oxidization of elemental sulfur than traditional products, but also maintains a slow-release of sulfate ensuring crop sulfur demands are met throughout the growing season and minimizes issues like leaching and seed safety associated with sulfate based fertilizers.
Results from a recent study done by the University of Minnesota (chart pictured below) demonstrates MST® performance through season long sulfur availability with residual sulfur available for the following crop. Contrastingly, the sulfate-based fertilizer did not yield as high in the residual scenario which may have been caused by leaching losses between seasons. This study demonstrates that sulfur from MST® stays where it is needed in the soil to maximize yield potential in the season of application, and buffers against loss potential as shown by carryover into the following crop. As discussed in our other posts, MST® demonstrates strong ROI and easy implementation for growers.
MST® is a flexible technology that can be implemented into multiple N,P,K based granular, prilled or liquid fertilizer production systems. We continue to expand our MST® product portfolio and enhance technology development through research.
